Muhammad Ali and Malcolm X #1082

Malcolm X was largely credited with increasing membership in the NOI from 500 in 1952 to 30,000 in 1963. He inspired the boxer Cassius Clay to join the Nation of Islam and change his name to Muhammad Ali. (Like Malcolm X, Ali later left the NOI and joined mainstream Islam.)

Muhammad Ali vs Joe Frazier #1073

Ring Magazine called this bout 1975’s Fight of the Year, the fifth year an Ali fight had earned that distinction. This fight has been called the greatest fight of all time by many. Ali won many of the early rounds, but Frazier staged a comeback in the middle rounds. By the late rounds, however, Ali had re-asserted control, and the fight was stopped due to Frazier’s eyes being closed.

Sugar Ray Robinson #1161

Caption from poster: Ask fight fans who the greatest boxes is and they would probably say, pound for pound, Sugar Ray Robinson. Robinson was poetry in motion, a peerless puncher who elevated the sport to an art form. He moved beautifully and punched in seamless combinations, rendering adversaries senseless with surgeon like precision.
